Hantah

I love reading books..... sometimes I find myself reading from late at night to very early in the morning. I think reading is a great way to expand your mind :) I love ALL of the books I have read from Dessen- still a couple to go- but I love them all. All of her books make it into my favorite book catagories. If you asked me to pick a favorite- I would choose the first that comes to my mind only because I can't choose; this basically means it might be different each time someone asks.... Sabbs is my bestest Buddy and it is sooooo hard making this since she moved away from me... but we prevail! now we read books and discuss them online- which is the idea for this site!! :) Me: I am a brunnette Female with brown eyes....

I like reading books; I think reading is a good way to expand your vocabulary and its a good exercise for your brain. I am in the middle of reading Just Listen and it is awesome i like can't stop reading it! I read before I go to bed nearly every night. Me: Black hair with Red and I've got brown eyes. Hantah is my bestest friend in the entire world :D I hate being away from her. I love you Hantah!!!

Something in common...

February 20, 2009

Now I am reading Just Listen (again) and I have realized a common phrase throughout Dessen's novels:
"Come on".
It seems this is said in every book- I have realized that this simple phrase marks a signifigant change
in the main character's life; Sophie and Owen say it in Just Listen- each marking a huge change in
Annabel's life- good or bad. Then also in Dreamland said by Rodgerson- marking the life altering changes
in Catlin's life. Another is in That Summer- when Sumner says it to Haven, which leads to her thoughts
about that summer, leading to her revelation. Also said in Keeping the Moon which is said by both Isabel
and Norman- Norman's marking the start of her summer in Colby which changes her life; Isabel's marks
Colie's change in self esteem and her life also. In Lock and Key I believe both Jamie and Nate say it- also
her sister I believe. I have to read The Truth About Forever again and then I will read This Lullaby and
Someone Like You. I will keep looking for the similarities other than the appearence of characters strung
together in the novels.
I have to keep reading the story- so much escapes me from two years ago!
Until Later~

That Summer....

February 17, 2009

So I just finished That Summer last night, it was really good. It was different from the other books
that Dessen has written; it was more about just the girl's memories and trying to deal with her father's
abandonment and her mother and sister than anything else. Haven seemed like a real "down to earth"
person who reminds me of a few of my friends put together. It seemed so Different for me to read this
particular book because she was only 15, the youngest I think- or at least so far...

Keeping the moon.....

February 12, 2009

Hey fans,
so I
finished Keeping the Moon a few days ago, it was a great book and I LOVED it!
Colie is a brave person- and I was soooo proud of her lol :)
now I have started that summer- which is like... 198 pages ... so I am reading soo slow.
I have also decided to re-read Just Listen because I can't find This Lullaby in my library, which sends
me into a huge state of panic- I NEED it by this July so I can go see the movie out in theatres...
which makes me think- will it be a theatre production or...

So me and Sabbs are doing this website while we are in two diff. states at once :P
it is pretty hard- and I am being bosy, telling her that she needs to blog about her reading the books-
you know, so people can share their experiances too....
right now I myself am reading Keeping The Moon, Colie deffinently reminds me of myself for obvious reasons- I am used to people making fun of me and if someone I don't know laughs I think they're laughing at me.... just these insecurities really tie me to h...

The Quiz on the Book Titles page...

February 7, 2009
So I just took that Quiz (link on Book title page) and I am Macy, The Truth About Forever, I think it's pretty accurate:

"You're Macy, from The Truth About Forever. You know what your strengths are, but sometimes, it's easier for you to ignore them and draw attention away from yourself by acting like they don't exist. Change is hard for you, and you'll sometimes make choices that you might realize are really bad...but only in hindsight. You don't have many friends, but when ...
